Biografía


Sir Philip Cohen is the Professor of Enzymology at the University of Dundee, Scotland where worked on the role of protein phosphorylation in cell regulation and human disease for the past 50 years. He has made important contributions to the understanding of insulin signal transduction, the discovery and characterisation of protein phosphatases, the dissection of MAP kinase cascades and the role of phosphorylation in regulating the innate immune system. He founded the Division of Signal Transduction Therapy in 1998 to facilitate the development of protein kinase inhibitors for the treatment of cancer and other diseases, the world’s longest collaboration between pharma and academia.
